  • Wear sunglasses and hats with UV protection
  • Don’t smoke or stop smoking.

  • Get an annual eye exam.
  • Keep your prescription glasses current

 

How can I treat macular degeneration?

  • Acupuncture has been shown to restore some or all vision lost from macular degeneration.
  • Eat a diet high in dark, leafy greens and fruits. They are high in lutein and zeaxanthin.
  • Eat cold-water fish high in omega-3’s such as tuna and salmon.
