Treat Balanitis Naturally

Balanitis occurs when the head of the penis swells and affects the foreskin. It occurs most often in boys and men who have not been circumcised. It can happen to any male at any age. It is often caused by not keeping the area clean and allowing a build-up of smegma to sit and irritate the skin; it can also be caused by fungal infections and STD’s. How do I prevent balanitis?

  • Balanitis is caused most often by poor hygiene.
  • Clean daily with warm water.
  • Avoid harsh soaps and irritating cleansers.
  • Do your best to avoid contracting STD’s.
  • Keep the head of the penis clean and dry.

 

How can I treat balanitis?

  • Take an epsom salts sitz bath to help reduce swelling and inflammation.
  • Increase your intake of garlic. It contains allicin which helps fight bacterial infections.
  • Add cayenne pepper to your food as it helps to reduce inflammation and stimulate immune function.
  • Aloe vera gel can be spread on the affected area to help heal infection and reduce skin irritation.
  • Drink (dried) angelica root tea to help reduce inflammation.
  • Ginger helps to fight bacteria and inflammation. It can be eaten or had as a tea.
  • Apply some yogurt with probiotics to the tip of the penis to fight off bad bacteria.
