Treat Vaginal Cysts Naturally

Vaginal cysts are fluid filled sacs ranging in size from the size of a pea to that of an orange. They are found under the vaginal lining; inclusion cysts are the most common. These cysts are the result of trauma to the vaginal walls or from an ob/gyn appointment that causes an abrasion that doesn’t heal properly.

How do I know if I have vaginal cysts?

  • Soft lump in the vaginal wall
  • Protrusion from the vagina
  • Discomfort during intercourse
  • Difficulty inserting tampons

How do I prevent vaginal cysts?

Vaginal cysts are caused by injuries to the vagina. The best way to prevent them is to avoid harming yourself. Remind partners to be gentle, and let your gynecologist know if you have a history of cysts appearing after appointments.

How can I treat vaginal cysts?

  • Take a sitz bath with a cup of epsom salts three times a day for a week to help alleviate irritation and encourage healing.
  • Garlic can be applied to the cyst to help kill off any bacteria forming around it. It can also be ingested to help boost immunity.
  • Don’t squeeze, scratch or puncture the cyst. Let it drain on its own.
  • Keep the area clean by washing with a gentle soap.
  • Apply warm, damp washcloths to the cysts 3-4 times a day to help soften it and encourage draining.
  • Increase your vitamin A intake as it helps to promote healing and skin growth.
  • B vitamins help to protect skin.
  • Eat foods high in zinc as it helps with skin repair.
  • Give it time to heal on its own. These cysts will disappear on their own most of the time.
