How can I treat puffy eyes?

  • Use green or black tea bags over the eyes; steep them in hot water for 3-5 minutes, then let cool till comfortably warm. Place over your eyes and leave until cool.
  • Place 4-6 spoons in the fridge and when your eyes need a break pull them out one at a time and use them over your eyes to decrease swelling.
  • Cucumbers help to constrict blood vessels. Place a slice over your eyes to help decrease puffiness.
  • Egg whites whipped into stiff peaks can be applied to puffiness. They’ll tighten the skin right up.
  • Grate some potato, place in a clean cloth and apply to the eyes as a poultice. Potato starch is a natural anti-inflammatory.
  • Mix a half teaspoon of salt in a quart of warm water. Dip some cotton balls into it, lie down, and apply the cotton balls to your closed eyes. Rest for 10 minutes.
  • Give yourself a light self massage by gently pressing your ring finger underneath the eye and moving in an arc shape from the inside corner to the outside corner. Do 10-15 times on each eye.
  • Strawberry slices can be used instead of cucumbers for the same results. Slice into thick slices and apply to the eyes for 10 minutes.
  • Aloe vera can be applied to the puffiness to help improve blood circulation and reduce swelling.
