Herbs and Remedies for Weight Loss

For ages, people have been looking for herbal remedies and easy ways to lose weight. While there may be no real method that beats proper diet and exercise, there are supplements that can be taken to help defeat a problem with obesity, but it still requires hard work on the part of the dieter. Keep in mind that many of the all-natural supplements touted to help people lose weight with little or no lifestyle changes are not FDA approved because dietary supplements are exempt from FDA regulation. Therefore, there is no guarantee that the product will either work or be safe. Yet there are always new home remedies and herbal remedies popping up that are said to help with weight loss.

Some questionable herbs used in weight loss supplements:

  • Chitosan, a sugar found in the shells of crustaceans, is said to block the absorption of fats and cholesterol.
